North Texas Birth Experiences is a local midwifery provider intent on partnering with you to provide safe and informed out-of-hospital birth options while ensuring your birth goals are respected. Home birth is an intimate time so bringing the honor birth deserves is a high priority for us. In addition, building community with your midwife during the pregnancy allows for a more natural and oxytocin-rich birth experience.

Home Birth with a Midwife

The natural birth midwife takes a holistic approach and believes a woman's body is designed for birth. Care can include suggestions for homeopathy, herbs, and supplements without abandoning modern methods. The goal is minimal intervention and a more hands-off approach to your pregnancy and birth. With evidence-based information, education, and loving support pregnant women can often give birth at home in their most ideal way!

This midwifery model of care is individualized and specific to your needs and desires. Birthing mothers are educated in their options that may not be presented otherwise. Our in-home care is not one-sided, rather it involves you in partnership. The midwife spends time listening to you to ensure you feel safe and supported. Midwifery offers compassionate care which benefits your home birth because midwives bring not only skilled experience and professionalism but also a calming presence.

A Angie Heffner is a midwife specialized in home births. She has extensive experience in pregnancy, birth, postpartum, newborn support, and breastfeeding.

Angie is experienced in supporting families through various types of birth outcomes, including home births, and laboring with and without medication in birth centers and hospitals. As a mother of 9 children herself, she has a unique understanding and connection with families. Having given birth in various environments and circumstances, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role as a home birth midwife.

Angie is the midwife you want on your birth team. She listens with compassion, respects and protects the sacredness of birth, empowers you to make informed choices, and carries incredible knowledge, skill, and attentiveness. Having Angie as my midwife was an absolute blessing—she helped me experience the homebirth VBAC of my dreams.

Throughout my pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, I felt truly seen, safe, and supported. She gently eased my concerns about having a VBAC, continually reminded me that the Lord created me for this, and helped me grow confident in my own ability to give birth. I looked forward to every prenatal visit—Angie was intentional, never rushed, and took the time to know me as a person, which created such a strong sense of trust and safety when it came time to birth. And her postpartum care was nothing short of extraordinary. Postpartum support and care often feels like a lost art, but Angie embodies it beautifully. She answered my countless questions with grace and wisdom, tending to both me and my baby with such devotion.

I have endless gratitude and praise for Angie. I am moving out of Texas soon, but whenever I am pregnant again I know I’ll do everything I can to have her be my midwife again for my next birth. That’s how truly amazing she is.

Angie was a very sweet, knowledgeable midwife. I started receiving service from her after I was almost 24 weeks but she made every interaction we had pleasant. Birth was peaceful, she was very patient, giving me my space while also checking up on baby and I every now and then without overwhelming me. The visit after baby arrived was done at home, no need to go out right away, we loved that!
